Following the huge success of our first tournament it was only right we returned with a bang! Covid delayed our return in 2020 but nonetheless our tournament resumed in 2021 (operating under social distancing and special measures). BL Ballers successfully raised funds for the global organisation ‘common goal’ who were our social impact partner, we partnered up with brands such as iPro hydrate to ensure players stayed hydrated. Businesses sponsored our event in order to showcase their businesses with the community at our events. This year we decided to hire physiotherapists to take care of players between games.

 

For our comeback it was only right we increased the prize money to £1875 with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize. Our FA qualified referees included females to ensure we upheld equality, diversity and inclusion. Refreshment packages included cooked food, energy drinks and energy bars were provided for participants. In addition to its fun and competitive element participants had the opportunity to take part in skill lessons and workshops about football careers (both on and off the pitch).
